Cannabis Events for Investors, Professionals & the Casually Canna-Curious

Early September marks the time when summer vacations end, that crisp hint of fall becomes reality, and the world goes back to work. Trade shows and industry events events ramp up again, and cannabis is no different: when the kids go back to school, we settle in for a new season of selling. As 2017 inches closer, Colorado has already sold over $600 million in marijuana sales with a predicted $1.35 billion finish; November 8th brings incredible possibility for legalization; and the cannabis industry as a whole gains more momentum with each passing day.  If you’re a cannabis professional, investor, or simply canna-curious, these are a few of the major cannabis events rounding out 2016:

 

420 Games

When: September - October

Where: Event series in CO, OR, CA and WA

Who attends: The 420-friendly athlete. This series of unique athletic events aims to promote the healthy and responsible use of cannabis; each event features a 4.20 mile course, a beer tasting garden from Lagunitas Brewery, educational speeches and music.

 

Arcview Investor Summit NYC

When: September 12-13

Where: New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge -  Brooklyn, NY

Who attends: Investor members of the Arcview Group; More than 250 high net worth investors from around the world eager to invest in the fastest growing industry in America will gather in Brooklyn for a two day Shark Tank-like pitch forum hosted exclusively for members of The ArcView Investor Network. Accredited investors will be reviewing pitches from more than 20 companies who competed fiercely for the pitch slots out of a field of hundreds of applicants. It will be the highest concentration of capital and key players to ever assemble for the industry.

Elevate Conference

When: September 20th

Where: Oakland Museum of California

Who attends: This startup event is singularly focused on the cannabis industry, and includes speakers such as Canopy's own Patrick Rea, and Canopy alumni Natasha Irizzary of Stashbox and Tradiv's Aeron Sullivan. Learn all about the entrepreneurial experience in the cannabis space.

New West Summit

When: October 14-15

Where: Embarcadero Hyatt Regency - San Francisco, CA

Who attends: Cannabis professionals, job seekers and those interested in the fast-growing businesses – with a focus on tech, marijuana investment and media – within the cannabis space. The event includes panels on vaping technology, the future of cannabis stocks, legalization efforts in Canada, mainstream cannabis investment, and more. Bonus job fair for those looking to break into the industry.

 

Opal Group Private Office & Family Wealth Forum

When: October 26-28

Where: Napa Valley Marriott - Napa, CA

Who attends: Investors. Largely dominated by first and second-generation families from the Silicon Valley, investment strategies such as private equity, venture capital, and technology will be familiar themes throughout the conference. Investment managers and families discuss the foundations in which they built their wealth, and the various investment strategies implemented to optimize portfolio growth. Additional forum topics: impact investing, alternatives and the trustee-beneficiary relationship.

 

CannaGrow Expo

When: October 29-30

Where: Denver, CO

Who attends: Cannabis growers, grow managers, dispensary owners, and grow enthusiasts. The two-day educational expo dedicated to the art and science of growing cannabis featuring the latest cannabis cultivation technology, tools, and techniques. CannaGrow Denver offers a selection of 25 cultivation-focused educational sessions led by world-class growers, and allows for valuable networking with cultivators from around the country.

 

Arcview Investor Summit Las Vegas

When: November 12-13th

Where: The M Resort - Henderson, NV

Who attends: Investor members of the Arcview Group. More than 250 high net worth investors from around the world eager to invest in the fastest growing industry in America will gather in Henderson, NV for a two day Shark Tank-like pitch forum hosted exclusively for members of The ArcView Investor Network. Accredited investors will be reviewing pitches from more than 20 companies who compete fiercely for the pitch slots out of a field of hundreds of applicants. Presenting companies then vie for an awarded $50k in capital.

 

Canopy Demo Day Las Vegas

When: November 15th

Where: Las Vegas, NV

Who attends: Investors, entrepreneurs, the cannabis community, the canna-curious. Canopy’s Fall class of cannabis entrepreneurs pitch their unique products and services to an audience of cannabis professionals, investors and the cannabis community. This is the first of CanopySF’s two Fall Demo Days (the second Demo Day will be held at the end of November in the Bay Area), coinciding with Arcview Las Vegas and MJ Biz Conference & Expo.

 

MJ Biz Conference & Expo

When: November 15-18

Where: Las Vegas, NV

Who attends: Cannabis business professionals. Featuring over 300 exhibitors, speakers, marijuana business crash courses and more, the entire marijuana business ecosystem will exist under one roof come November and this huge industry conference and business expo.

 

Canopy Demo Day San Francisco

When: November 29th

Where: San Francisco Bay Area (venue TBD)

Who attends: Investors, entrepreneurs, the cannabis community, the canna-curious. Canopy’s Fall class of cannabis entrepreneurs pitch their unique products and services to an audience of cannabis professionals, investors and the cannabis community. This is the second of CanopySF's two Demo Days, held at the end of November in the Bay Area.
