How did you develop the concept for your cannabiz?
Having worked in agricultural robotics, I saw an opportunity for automated trimming after watching a television program, discussing the labor of cannabis trimming.
What problem does your product/service solve in the cannabis industry?
Our product helps automate the harvest and processing of cannabis, specifically, the trimming of leaves from the flowers. By using advanced robotics and camera technology, the Bloom robot prevents damage to the cannabis flowers. The end product is a flower that is delicately and precisely trimmed.
How did you hear about Canopy, and why did you decide to apply to the accelerator?
I heard about Canopy quickly through online research into the industry and landscape. After meeting with Canopy in person in the fall, I knew it would be a great opportunity to become immersed in the industry.
What element of the Canopy program are you most excited about?
I am most excited about working alongside a variety of innovative companies and founders, as well as being mentored by some of the best in the industry.
What's the best part of working in the cannabis industry?
The people in the cannabis industry are more open and inviting to new and innovative ideas than most any other industry I have worked in.
You work a lot. What do you do when you're not drilling down on your startup?
I enjoy skiing as well as mountain biking... as well as working on hobby robotics!
