How did you develop the concept for your cannabis startup?
Firesale was developed when I (co-founder Damien Paine, a former dispensary owner) recognized that there was a gap in the market to focus solely on patient value. I also realized that if we could find a way to develop a vast patient base, dispensaries would have a cost-effective way to reach patients and drive them in the door.
 
What problem does Firesale solve in the cannabis industry?
Firesale is solely focused on helping consumers find the best prices on cannabis near them. Think of Firesale as the “Groupon of Weed”. The app updates in real time, so customers can find the best deals in their area, anytime.
 
How did you hear about Canopy, and why did you decide to apply to the accelerator?
We met the Canopy team at the MJ Biz Conference in Las Vegas. We are looking to develop business relationships that can help our business grow and to work with a team to make our business stronger, and the Canopy accelerator seemed to be a great fit for our startup's goals.
 
What element of the Canopy program are you most excited about?
It's been invaluable to connect with mentors and the Canopy team; it's made our business stronger and better positioned for success.
 
What's the best part of working in the cannabis industry?
Having the opportunity to help people whose lives are positively impacted by cannabis use.
 
You work a lot. What do you do when you're not drilling down on your startup?
Damien is a professional long-driver, Clay is a restaurant owner and Anthony is a musician.
