It’s spring and we are just under four weeks away from March 30th - the launch of our Spring Class. Micah, Mark and I have been very busy preparing for the arrival of our first 10 startups, and we wanted to share some details about how things are shaping up.
We are currently in due diligence with 12 finalist teams and will extend offers to 10. We had over 115 applicants to choose from. With each team, we are looking closely at the quality of the founders, but also considering many other factors.
In the coming months, you will have ample opportunity to learn more about our startups via CanopyBoulder.com and social media. Stay tuned for a “Meet the Founders” video series in April.
We’ve taken a portfolio strategy with Canopy, targeting startups that may work together and form partnerships to strengthen their individual businesses while in the accelerator. We are working on individual plans for each team and starting to identify potential mentor/entrepreneur matches.
Mark your calendar for March 30th! To welcome our startups to the cannabis industry, we will be hosting a fundraiser for Students for Sensible Drug Policy (SSDP) and a happy hour featuring Harborside Healthcare Founder and CanopyBoulder Partner Steve DeAngelo. Steve has never been to Boulder, so let’s show him how much the Denver/Boulder cannabis industry cares about supporting the development of the industry and SSDP.
Tickets are just $5 and all the proceeds will go to SSDP.
